Fall 2011 Fundraising Campaign

Step right up to your place in the circus spotlight! You are the base of Wise Fool New Mexico’s people-powered programs.

We have chosen the human pyramid as the income gauge for this year’s fundraising campaign, because only with a strong base of supporters like you can Wise Fool build communities, guide youth and individuals in circus skills and self-empowerment, and create art that inspires both imaginations and conversations. Just like in a human pyramid, every person is crucial to the stability, resilience, and strength of our programs.

We hope you’ll help us to continue “changing lives one circus at a time” by making a donation to our 2011 fundraising campaign. Every dollar you donate raises our pyramid higher – going directly into Wise Fool’s year-round circus arts, puppetry, and social justice theatre educational programs and performances in Santa Fe and Peñasco, throughout New Mexico, and across the US. (For more information on our work serving thousands of people each year from schools to stages, please visit wisefoolnewmexico.org). Like most nonprofits, financial support from individuals like you is absolutely necessary to our existence.

We ask you to please contribute whatever you can - every amount by every person helps! New this year, with a contribution of $35 or more you will instantly become a Wise Fool Member. Please click here for our membership levels and some terrific perks! Just click the pink “Donate” button at the top of this page to make a secure online payment.

Wise Fool can’t do our work alone – we need a strong base to make it happen. Please become a Wise Fool member today, and see what heights we can reach together!

How Wise Fool reaches out and takes effect:

At Wise Fool we employ the arts of circus, puppetry, and theatre in order to ignite imagination, stand against oppression, and bring joy to our community:

  • We help youth learn life skills, build confidence, and explore their creative self-expression.
  • We provide opportunities for women to empower themselves and connect with each other.
  • We run free and low-cost, high-quality arts programs in rural and underserved communities.
  • We bring stiltwalking and puppetry into public, private, and pueblo schools across the state.
  • We add extra color and life to other organizations’ special events.
  • We generate over $160,000/year in paid work for local performers and teaching artists.
  • We run unlearning oppression trainings for our staff, board, teachers, and volunteers.
  • We create safe spaces where people can speak, listen, dialogue, create, and find common ground.
