Community Projects
Wise Fool seeks to reintegrate art into daily life by making it accessible to all, especially remote, low income, and underserved communities. Through year-round programming at the Penasco Theatre and the annual IGNITE project, Wise Fool seeks to bring engaging, high-quality arts opportunities to individuals where they are, and in a culturally appropriate manner.
Peñasco Theatre Collective
The Peñasco Theatre Collective supports the rural Peñasco community by providing positive activities in a familiar and empowering environment. Activities include a free two-week circus and visual arts summer camp for Peñasco youth, ongoing classes in circus arts for adults and kids, and a huge variety of shows ranging from circus cabarets to local youth punk bands to flamenco theatre, open mics, and movies. Live/work residencies available.

IGNITE!
Ignite provides an opportunity for individuals, families, and organizations to create artwork that responds to our world. Wise Fool offers four weeks of free workshops in Santa Fe throughout the month of April, guiding community members in the creation of giant puppets and street art that reflect both struggles and visions around a social issue chosen in a public forum. The resulting creations, from whimsical to thought-provoking, are carried by their makers in an outdoor community celebration. Spectators are treated to a colorful menagerie reflecting dozens of diverse artistic reactions to the chosen issue.
